Nse Ufot runs Stacey Abrams' New Georgia Project, and she's joining us to talk 2022 on The Brief
The New Georgia Project (NGP) is the model we need to see go national. Founded by future Georgia governor Stacey Abrams, NGP helped build the ground organization that propelled Sens. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff to the Senate in the Jan. 2021 runoff elections.
Georgia’s population is growing and becoming increasingly diverse. Over the past decade, the population of Georgia increased 18%. The New American Majority – people of color, those 18 to 29 years of age, and unmarried women – is a significant part of that growth. The New American Majority makes up 62% of the voting age population in Georgia, but they are only 53% of registered voters.
Joining us today on Daily Kos The Brief, our weekly podcast about politics, is Nsé Ufot. She is the Chief Executive Officer of NGP and its affiliate, New Georgia Project Action Fund (NGP AF).
We will talk about what NGP did to win in 2020-21, and what they’re doing this year to keep Warnock in the Senate and get Abrams into the governorship.
