Can pro-Democracy Republicans help Dems retain control this November, on today's The Brief
Watching conservative Rep. Liz Cheney own the Jan. 6 Committee to great effect, it’s clear that Republicans are simply built more cutthroat than Democrats. Frustrating, I know! What would it look like if non-asshole Republicans—in this case, defined as “not wanting to overthrow our democracy”—could plot Democratic strategy? Not saying we want to do that, but aren’t you curious as to what that might look like?
Daily Kos The Brief is our weekly show about politics. Our guest today is Sarah Longwell, publisher of the conservative never-Trump publication, The Bulwark, and host of The Focus Group with Sarah Longwell podcast (Apple|Spotify).
We’ll ask Sarah her insights into the current state of the Republican Party, what she sees in terms of the GOP’s ability to recapture Congress in November, and what she would advise the Democratic Party to do in terms of messaging and tactics. It’ll be a great look from the other side of the aisle, from a Republican that is just as terrified about the state of our democracy as we are.
