Florida GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz appeared on Steve Bannon’s podcast War Room on Thursday to rant about enlisting “4,000 shock troops” to attack their political enemies and regain control of the federal government if one-term former President Donald Trump chooses to run again in 2024.

Bannon, a loathsome figure and former White House adviser to Trump, has been indicted by a federal grand jury after defying a subpoena issued by the House select committee investigating the terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. He faces trial in July, but he’s still running his mouth on his podcast.

Gaetz, who is being investigated by the Justice Department for child trafficking and has a long history of kissing Trump’s a** at every turn, told Bannon that “stagecraft is statecraft” and “sometimes you’ve got to raise your voice to raise a ruckus and to raise an army of patriots who love this country and will fight for her.”

“And if we get more of them in Congress, then that’s exactly what we’re gonna do,” said the Congress member, who could serve a decade behind bars if convicted. “We’re gonna operationalize the performance to go right after the people who are imposing the vaccine mandates, who are enriching themselves and who are selling out the country.”

Bannon, 67,  praised Gaetz, calling his ideas “fresh” and “new”  and adding that Trump supporters should be prepared to help Trump regain the coveted crown.

“This is Trumpism in power. That’s when we went to the 4,000 shock troops we have to have that’s going to man the government. Get them ready now. Right?” Bannon, whose charges could lead to two years in jail and a fine of $100,000, said. “We’re going to hit the beach with the landing teams and the beachhead teams and all that nomenclature they use when President Trump wins in 2024—or before.”

In October Bannon predicted a midterm election victory for the GOP as a bellwether victory to Trump’s 2024 win—accompanied by a “MAGA perspective, MAGA policies, not the standard Republican policies,” he told NBC News.

“If you’re going to take over the administrative state and deconstruct it, then you have to have shock troops prepared to take it over immediately,” he added.

Trump hasn’t announced whether or not he’ll run again in 2024. Of course he’s alluded to it many times.

In an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt, Trump said if he didn’t run, his base would be “very angry. ”
